Hi,
I just want to report that my Intel centrino card is now working.
I had experienced the same error messages as other people on this list
(no access point when doing "iwlist scan", failing to set essid)
but after some time I got the following in /var/log/messages
Oct 31 14:36:52 skywalker kernel: driverloader:
ndisWrapCheckForHangTimerFunc: P
CI-02:04.0-8086:1043-8086:2527 hung

performing hard

Oct 31 14:37:03 skywalker kernel: eth1: New link status: Connected (0001)
And now the card reports:
skywalker:~ # iwconfig eth1

No reboot or other changes were made. It just started to work.
Maybe a matter of signal noise or placement of access point. I don't know.
Configuration: Intel 802.11b chip (centrino) in Acer Tracemate 800, SuSE
9.0. Access point is a Belkin 54g. Driverloader is version 1.23.
Thanks for your help,
Stefan Voss
