Hello,
I just tried DriverLoader module on my ASUS Intel Centrino M3N.
Here my report :-) and my problem :-(
I installed the Debian package (I'm on Debian testing/unstable) and I
was running on kernel 2.6.0-test9 patched ACPI-20031002. So, after
having read the INSTALL instructions for the DriverLoader, I typed
'dldrconfig' to complete my installation. The module is correctly
compiled, but when I insert it, the kernel freezes after this output
from /var/log/syslog:
| Nov 9 00:26:10 gismo kernel: driverloader: no version for
"struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
| Nov 9 00:26:10 gismo kernel: driverloader: module license 'see

In which way can I solve the problem on kernel 2.6.0-test9? I can't
launch the 'dldrconfig --dumpdiag' because it freezes the kernel, too.
This was with DriverLoader 1.34, with version 1.38, I got an EIP
problem: I don't know how to save the messages I get to the screen, so I
can't report the exact error. After this, the kernel still freezes and I
have to manually power down my laptop (pressing for 5sec the power down
button).
As I have an 'old' kernel 2.4.21 (always patched ACPI), I tried this one
and DriverLoader compiles correcly, the module is correctly inserted and
I can use my Intel Centrino PRO/Wireless with a D-Link WiFi Hub. Here
some infos:
| gismo:/home/luca# iwconfig
| lo no wireless extensions.
|
| eth0 no wireless extensions.

I tried DriverLoader on kernel 2.4.23-pre8 (the latest ACPI-patched
available) and it works again. More, now the 'wireless led' of my ASUS
M3N turns on/off and blinks for WiFi activities.
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
