Yes, I've been able to enable those kind of keys on my father's Asus.
But my laptop doesn't have a brand, it is assembled by a portuguese
manufacturer, and those keys don't show up under /proc/acpi/event.
Do you have any more sugestions? This is my ACPI related dmesg output:
