I changed ifcfg-waln0 to this:
BOOTPROTO='dhcp'
MTU=''
REMOTE_IPADDR=''
STARTMODE='onboot'
DHCLIENT_MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF='yes'
DHCLIENT_SET_DEFAULT_ROUTE='yes'
DHCLIENT_PRIMARY_DEVICE='yes'
UNIQUE=''
WIRELESS_ESSID='OhrockNet'
WIRELESS_KEY=''
WIRELESS_MODE=''
WIRELESS_NICK='Managed'
WIRELESS_NWID=''
Run it, and the dhcp backgrounds and gets me to the same point. This is
my 'tail -f /var/log/messages' :
Jan 2 14:35:47 linux dhcpcd-hook: State: down. Leaseinfo: <none given>
Jan 2 14:35:47 linux dhcpcd-hook: Skipping 'ifdown $INTERFACE -o dhcp'
call
Jan 2 14:35:52 linux dhcpcd[3880]: broadcasting DHCP_REQUEST for
192.168.2.100
Jan 2 14:36:02 linux dhcpcd[3880]: timed out waiting for DHCP_ACK
response
Jan 2 14:36:02 linux dhcpcd[3880]: broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER
I'm still without ip... My if config:
wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0C:41:AD:D3:21
UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:226 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
This is my iwconfig:
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"OhrockNet" Nickname:"Managed"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.437GHz Bit Rate=54Mb/s
Tx-Power=15 dBm
RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Encryption key:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality:1/1 Signal level:-43 dBm Noise level:-80 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0
As I said I can scan and see my environment, everything seems fine with
the card, drivers, etc.
By the way thanks for you quick response.
