I'm using the Broadcom BCM94306 mini-pci wifi card in my HP zd7000.
As stated elsewhere, NDIS doesn't support certain configuration
changes. This lead to issues in my 802.11b enviroment.
The card wouldn't shift down from 54G, and there were channel issues.
iwconfig & iwlist were less than successful. Since the rate wouldn't
step down, no AP's were found, let alone channels, essid, etc.
While poking around, I discovered that the
'/etc/driverloader/config/$MAC_ADDRESS' had line for line entries
from the windows driver inf file. Upon further review, I found ini
style entries which help resolve some issues and gave me a functional
wifi card.
I added the following:
Channel="06"
WEP=""
SSID="--wiped--"
Rate="22"
A couple of extra comments;
The SSID doesn't work/stick. I'm still running iwconfig through other scripts.
The 'Rate' is twice actual Mbps.
Hope this helps.
