I gave the enclosed rpm a try and I can report that it successfully
brings up the module without the forementioned error, however now my
cpu starts working like a boat motor out of water and my temperature
goes up to about 69C, with the mouse/keyboard responding every 5 -
10 seconds until I eject the device. The /var/log/messages reads:

Jan 24 15:26:29 sote kernel: driverloader: NdisAcquireSpinLock: exceeded spinlimit (238288896), breaking lock
Jan 24 15:26:29 sote last message repeated 3 times

The spinlimit I believe is what I am seeing cause the cpu issues. I
will await further instructions. I appreciate the prompt response
you gave to my first inquiry.

The idea of implementing a serious complex set of business
logic rules in a scripting language like Perl really scares me.
Perl is too much 'write once, read never again'. And that's no good
for business logic that requires maintenance.
