[driverloader] DHCP Problem Mandrake/WMP54G/WRT54G

I've been attempting to setup my WMP54G & WRT54G AP under Mandrake 9.2 for
the past few days. Its to the point where the driver is loading properly and
I'm seeing my AP (via iwlist scan and my essid is being set properly in
iwconfig). However I'm having odd problems with DHCP.
Specificaly, I'm not getting an IP address reliabely. One time (out of
around 100 attempts and configurations) I did get an ip address via dhcp,
and this was verified in my AP logs. At that point I decided I had enough
success for one day and got back to it the very next day. No config changes
between or reboots, and the next morning I could not get an IP. Furter
attempts still failed.
At this point I decided to give up on DHCP and put in a static ip. A quick
network restart later and ifconfig shows the proper ip, gateway, etc..
However I still can not access my AP. dhclient eth0 simply times out.
After some thinking about it one possibility is that the wireless card is
receiving but not transmitting properly. I moved my AP around a bit to
ensure there were no reception problems but that yielded no success.
I do have 3 other wireless devices I have tested with the AP and they all
work flawlessly. I have tried the AP in both open and WEP/128 mode with the
same results.
