Device is D-link G-630.
System is ThinkPad A31, running RH7.3 with custom 2.4.20-28.7 kernel,
configured with WIRELESS_EXTENSIONS and NET_RADIO enabled, APIC support
disabled.
Installed driverloader-1.65-1.i386.rpm, installation normal.
Bring up web interface, plug in card, driverloader module loads ok,
then reports as follows:
/etc/hotplug/pci.agent: Setup driverloader for PCI slot 03:00.0
cardmgr[625]: socket 0: CardBus hotplug device
kernel: 03:00.0: cache line size not set; forcing 32
kernel: eth1: New link status: Disconnected (0002)
kernel: driverloader: ndisSetInformation: error waiting for completion
kernel: driverloader: ndisSetInformation: 802_11_BSSID_LIST_SCAN st=FAILURE W=0 N=0
/etc/hotplug/net.agent: invoke ifup eth1
kernel: driverloader: SetCompleteHandler: 802_11_SSID Status=FAILURE Async=0
kernel: driverloader: ndisSetInformation: 802_11_SSID st=FAILURE retrying..
kernel: driverloader: SetCompleteHandler: 802_11_SSID Status=FAILURE Async=0
kernel: driverloader: ndisSetInformation: 802_11_SSID st=FAILURE retrying..
kernel: driverloader: SetCompleteHandler: 802_11_SSID Status=FAILURE Async=0
kernel: driverloader: ndisSetInformation: 802_11_SSID st=FAILURE W=0 N=0
kernel: eth1: Error -5 setting desired SSID
kernel: eth1: Error -5 configuring card
Thereafter, using either the web config tool or dldrconfig, attemping to enter
the license key causes kernel to crash with "Unable to handle kernel paging
request". Completely consistent, happens every time.
A similar problem was reported in this list last month, but there didn't seem
to be any response to it.
Anyone have any ideas on this?
Thanks,
Glenn
