I'm attempting to add a 128 bit WEP key in hex
but all i get is an error that says

# uname -a
# Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.20-9 #1 Wed Apr 2 13:42:50 EST 2003
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
# iwconfig eth1 essid test
# iwconfig eth1 essid test key 22222222222222222222222222222222 on
Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
SET failed on device eth1 ; Invalid argument.
[alink at localhost alink]#

I can see other access points

# iwlist eth1 ap
eth1 Access Points in range:
     00:41:90:41:21:03 : Quality:1 Signal level:0 Noise level:56 (updated)
     00:40:05:BA:7D:AD : Quality:1 Signal level:0 Noise level:56 (updated)
     00:06:25:25:2B:88 : Quality:1 Signal level:0 Noise level:56 (updated)
     00:0D:88:9F:85:DD : Quality:1 Signal level:0 Noise level:56 (updated)
     00:0D:88:F2:4F:A4 : Quality:1 Signal level:0 Noise level:56 (updated)

Could this be the problem that the drivers only support 40 bits keys ?
(The only key length I've been able to add is a truncated fake key )
# iwlist eth1 key
eth1 1 key sizes : 40bits
           4 keys available :
                 [1]: E934-8832-0C (40 bits)
                 [2]: off
                 [3]: off
                 [4]: off
           Current Transmit Key: [1]

any hlp apprec.

Tony
