More information.. I simulated a suspend using 'apm -s' from the
console, and was able to capture some error messages on resume (didn't
hard lock this time):
driverloader: ndisWrapCheckForHangTimeFunc_stk:
PCI-0000:0b:00.0-168c:0013-1186:3a12 hung, resetting
driverloader: ndisWrapCheckForHangTimeFunc_stk:
PCI-0000:0b:00.0-168c:0013-1186:3a12 hung, resetting
driverloader: ndisWrapCheckForHangTimeFunc_stk:
PCI-0000:0b:00.0-168c:0013-1186:3a12 hung, resetting
driverloader: ndisWrapCheckForHangTimeFunc_stk:
PCI-0000:0b:00.0-168c:0013-1186:3a12 hung, resetting
driverloader: NdisWrapStatusToErrno: unknown: NDIS_STATUS_HARD_ERRORS
eth1: netndis_reset: Error -5 performing reset
driverloader: NdisWriteErrorLogEntry: ErrorCode=OUT_OF_RESOURCES
NumberOfErrorValues=4
driverloader: NdisWriteErrorLogEntry: ErrorValue 0=0xcfa69008
driverloader: NdisWriteErrorLogEntry: ErrorValue 1=0x28
driverloader: NdisWriteErrorLogEntry: ErrorValue 2=0xcef60008
driverloader: NdisWriteErrorLogEntry: ErrorValue 3=0xcef60008
erh1: failed to reinitialize atapder (error = -12)
A cardctl eject/insert then gives:
driverloader: NdisWriteErrorLogEntry:
ErrorCode=UNSUPPORTED_CONFIGURATION NumberOfErrorValues=4
ErrorValue 0=0xcfa69008
ErrorValue 1=0x1
ErrorValue 2=0x0
ErrorValue 3=0x3
eth1: failed to initialize adapter (err = -5)
eth1: Failed to register net device (-5)
driverloader: probe of 0000:0b:00.0 failed with error -5
Physically removing the card gives the same result. Also the entire
pcmcia subsystem is now fubar...
# /etc/init.d/pcmcia stop
Shutting down PCMCIA services: ERROR: module ds is in use
done.
# /etc/init.d/pcmcia start
Starting PCMCIA services: cardmgr[2558]: no sockets found!
done.
..and we're back to having to cold reboot the machine again.
