Hello all
I thought I'd mail in and tell everyone how we
resolved this, in case it happens to you. In short it
was a case of using the right version of driverloader
with the right kernel. I found:
- driverloader v2.06 worked with neither kernel 2.4.21
nor 2.6.7 nor 2.6.8.1
- driverloader v1.56 worked with kernel 2.4.21 but
could not install to 2.6.8.1
- driverloader v1.77 didn't work with 2.6.8.1, and
created a kernel panic when trying to install to
2.6.7.
- driverloader v1.56 worked with 2.6.7
And that's where we have it. I have an old (but
working) driverloader with a 2.6 kernel - specifically
2.6.7 - so I'm happy. I cannot upgrade my kernel to
2.6.8.1 with driverloader, nor can I upgrade my
driverloader much further. But those are all problems
for another day. Linuxant support were quite
persistent throughout, so my thanks to them.
