Aaron,
My guess is that your routing information is not quite right. At a shell prompt,
either before X loads, or in X via an Xterm, type 'su' to login as root and
type 'route -n'. If an entry appears in the table with the IP address '0.0.0.0',
you will need to delete this route. Type 'route del default' and attempt to connect
to the internet. Assuming your proxy server information is configured in your
browser properly, you should be able to access all your internet services. If this
method worked, add the line 'route del default' to the end of your rc.local script,
which will possibly be in a different location depending on your distribution; in
Mandrake 8.1 it is in /etc/rc.d/, this will delete the route on startup.
