[hcflinux] Network stops responding after some time

Hello,

I have a strange problem with my dialup connection. After connecting to
ISP I ping nameserver. It responds for some time and then stops. I
noticed that it happened at the same time when I try to open ISP's WWW
site in Mozilla. After that I can't even ping the other side of PPP
connection. It's definitely not ISP's problem since in W2K it works
fine. I also consulted in pppd mailing list but there nobody could help
me.

In order to get some status information I tried to append
"loglastcallstatus=1" to "options hcfpciserial" line in
/etc/modules.conf. After that I got the following error in wvdial:

/dev/ttySHCF0: No such device

I use Acorp HCF PCI CXT 1035 modem with Conexant chipset (14F1:1085)
under RedHat 7.2, 2.4.7-10 (i686) with pppd. Drivers were installed from
hcfpcimodem-0.97mbsibeta02070500k2.4.7_10-1rh.i686.rpm. I also tried to
compile them from hcfpcimodem-0.97mbsibeta02070500-1.src.rpm.
