Hello Andy,

I use the dialog setup for kppp and use PAP Authentication with Freeserve as my ISP.MAybe changing from CHAP to PAP might help.

I've just installed Mandrake 9.0 (kernal 2.4.19-16) and I have a Conexant
Octopus Modem(14F1, 1085).  After downloading the generic HCF driver from
http://www.mbsi.ca/cnxtlindrv/hcf/downloads.html, I can get the modem to
connect to Freeserve, but after it has connected my browser and email programs
don't respond.  I'm using CHAP authentication and the kppp dialer.

Any ideas or suggestions welcome. I'm a newcomer to Mandrake, so may have
missed something.
