Hi,

after doing a little bit of research, I'm pretty sure that you have an HCF
modem because of it's sub-vender and sub-device id's.

I think you might have an IRQ assignment problem because the modem seems to
be sharing IRQ 9 with other devices and this can potentially cause problems.

You can try playing with the kernel options "noapic", "acpi=off" and/or
"apm=off".

If that doesn't work, you can try to configure and install a generic kernel
with the ACPI patches found on this web site:
http://sf.net/projects/acpi

Subject: [hcflinux] WinModem still do not work (was no /dev/ttySHCF0)

Dear Jean-Simon

I still can't get my WinModem working with either
HCF or HSF driver.

Now, /dev/ttySHSF0 or /dev/ttySHCF0 shows up.
Can you tell whether my modem is HCF-compatible
or HSF-compatible?

When I go to Mandrake Controll Center using the
Wizard on DrakConnect, I get the same negative response,

Your modem isn't supported by the system.
Take a look at http://www.linmodems.org

Now what? Thanks in advanced for your help.
