Hi

I installed the latest version of the driver
hcfpcimodem-0.99lnxtbeta03042700
on my debian 3.0 system with an 2.4.21 kernelpackage, wich is an
backport from the testing distribution.

It was downloaded here
http://www.fs.tum.de/~bunk/debian/dists/woody/bunk-1/main/binary-i386/kernel-image-2.4.21-2-686-smp_2.4.21-2_i386.deb
with the headers from
http://www.fs.tum.de/~bunk/debian/dists/woody/bunk-1/main/binary-i386/kernel-headers-2.4.21-2_2.4.21-2_i386.deb
http://www.fs.tum.de/~bunk/debian/dists/woody/bunk-1/main/binary-i386/kernel-headers-2.4.21-2-686_2.4.21-2_i386.deb

Installing and compiling went verry well but when I start the ppp
software I get the following syslog message:

Is this because the modem is not supported officialy? I have 14f1:1815

But I found an report, where it is claimed
that the modem with this ID is working out of the box, on a notebook
wich is verry similar to the one I use. See
http://guillaume.patoche.org/C1700T/

May it be because of the kernel-version?

Thanks for any hints

Hendrik

PS. Output of hcfpciconfig --dumpdiag is appended.
