[hcflinux] Voice Modem as an Asterisk channel

Hello world,
Has anyone considered using an HCF/HSF modem as an Asterisk channel driver?
Knowing that there are now Intel HaM modems being used (almost 
unchanged) as these, surely the Conexant modem chips are capable of this 
also.
Does anyone have thoughts or feedback on this?
