ok, I felt pity for you and added pre-built binaries for RedHat i386 kernels.
;-) 

Try http://www.mbsi.ca/hsflinmodem-4.06.06.02mbsibeta02042600-1_redhat.i586.rpm
(unreleased test version just for this issue) and let me know if it works.
