Hi,
I downloaded the hsflinmodem-5.03.03.L2mbsibeta02060200.tar.gz package and
installed it. The installation process worked well and if I do a lsmod, I
get:
hsfvia 96256 2 (autoclean)
hsfserial 17024 1 (autoclean)
hsfengine 890464 0 (autoclean) [hsfserial]
hsfosspec 19952 0 (autoclean) [hsfvia hsfengine]
I think this is ok. So, now compare it to lspci:
00:07.6 Communication controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT82C686 [Apollo
Super AC97/Modem] (rev 30)
lspci -nv:
00:07.6 Class 0780: 1106:3068 (rev 30)
Subsystem: 104d:80f6
Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 5
I/O ports at 1400 [size=256]
Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2
My /etc/hsf/config:
hsfconf_countryName="GERMANY"
hsfconf_countryT35c="04,00"
hsfconf_vendorId="1106"
hsfconf_deviceId="3068"
hsfconf_infFile="/etc/hsf/inf/linux_via_smartmc.inf"
hsfconf_firmFile=""
Now I try to get a connection with by using kinternet from KDE 3.0 and I get
in the log window:
ATZ
OK
ATM1L3
OK
ATDT010880192658
NO DIALTONE
I changed the setup to send a ATX3 after the ATZ, but nothing happens. I
think the modem doesn't even block the line, because I can call in by phone.
about the notebook:
Sony Vaio FX501
Via VT86C686 chipset
AMD Duron 1GHz
about the OS:
Slackware Linux 8.0 with a lot of patches and upgrades
Linux 2.4.18 kernel with ACPI patch from 04.04.02.
lets do a dmesg:
ERROR: did not find a supported AC97 codec ! (0x4358:0x4358)<3>
ERROR: did not find a supported AC97 codec ! (0x4358:0x0)<3>
ERROR: did not find a supported AC97 codec ! (0x4358:0x0)<3>
ERROR: did not find a supported AC97 codec ! (0x4358:0x0)<3>
PCI: Assigned IRQ 5 for device 00:07.6
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:07.6 to 64
Ok, now I do dmesg | grep "00:07.6":
PCI: Assigned IRQ 5 for device 00:07.6
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:07.6 to 64
PCI: Assigned IRQ 5 for device 00:07.6
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 00:07.6 to 64
I also had a look at /var/log/messages and /var/log/syslog, but there is
nothing interesting.
Ok folks, what can I do to get the think working? How can I provide more
information? Is there a way to compile the modules with DEBUG messages or
something like this?
By,
Steinchen
