[hsflinux] HSF, Inspiron 8200, SMP

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200. The HSF driver works fine (after replacing
ALSA by OSS and after replacing the default SuSE 8.0 kernel (an SMP
kernel) with a non-SMP kernel (both 2.4.18)). I think that you can't do
anything about the ALSA-problem, but SMP would be nice. SMP is useful
because of the P4's hyperthreading. Being a software developer, I'd like
to test the hyperthreading, but with the current situation, it's more
important for me to have a working modem. :)

Can someone give a brief status of SMP-support? Is it not supported
because it takes time to implement it or are there technical/legal
problems?
