Hiya,

I just downloaded the latest rpm for redhat 7.3 (2.4.18-3) i686 because
I bought a Mini-book PC which included a modem. The ENTIRE pc's
architecture has intel all over it, except for the firewire which is
Texas Instruments.

Anyways the modem is identified as follows:

00:1f.6 Modem: Intel Corp. 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Modem (rev 05) (prog-if 00
[Generic])
Subsystem: SILICON Laboratories: Unknown device 4c27
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
	I/O ports at de00 [size=256]
	I/O ports at dc00 [size=128]

00:1f.6 Class 0703: 8086:2446 (rev 05)
	Subsystem: 1543:4c27
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
	I/O ports at de00 [size=256]
	I/O ports at dc00 [size=128]

I tried to use the drivers above and when they load I get a bad error
message and the /etc/ttyH... modem give an "input/output error".

Can any one tell me if I am SOL. I need to get this machine's modem to
work or find an alternate solution by this monday.

Thanks,
Elmo (polywog at users.sourceforge.net / AIM: PolywogSys)
