I logged in to the root as and administrator but I still receive the
tainted error message. I have RedHat Linux 8.0 on a Hp 8650C would love
to get my modem working as having Linux with no internet is not a viable
option for me I am really new to Linux. I installed it to learn more
about it but the Modem is really killing me. If some kind person could
please help resolve this problem I would be most thankful to him.

Thanks,

Bruno Miranda.

Pre-built HSF modules that seem compatible with your system were found under
/usr/lib/hsf/modules/binaries/i686/RedHat/linux-2.4.18-14.

Your HSF modem should now be accessible as /dev/ttySHSF0
or through the symbolic link /dev/modem.
