Hi
I have a athelon based pc with conexant HSF modem *sigh :(* . I
recently installed winxp and left one partition to install Linux. I
chose mandrake 9.0 and installed it from a cheap 3 cd set. The cds
didn't work correctly and mandrake was installed with some vital
packages missing. I installed the hsfmodem driver and it worked fine.
But because of other problems I reinstalled mandrake Linux from new cds.
This time round when I installed the HSF modem, it doesn't work. It says
"modem not responding" error.
I've ran "modprobe hsfserial", no problem there. Lsmod produces no
kernel errors that I can see.
I ran 'hsfstop' and then ran 'hsfconfig' again with '--nvram'. Nothing
happened. The problem is still there.
