Hi,
I have a VAIO FX405 laptop with the following device detected by
hsfconfig:
Selected PCI VendorID=1106 DeviceID=3068
and INF file /etc/hsf/inf/linux_via_smartmc.inf
Install/compilation works fine (gcc 3.2), but when accessing /dev/ttySHSF0
I get:
HSF: MC97 VendorId1=0x4144 VendorId2=0x5348
ERROR: did not find a supported MC97 controller ! (0x4144:0x5348)
hsf_request_port: ComCtrlOpen failed, r=1!
The modem worked already using SuSE 8.0 (gcc 2.95), but now I have 8.1.
Any hints? Some time ago, the modem didn't work at all (not detected), but
it was because of bad contact or something (I removed it, plugged it back
in and it this is the result). At least, in Linux I got no crashes (XP had
bluescreens ;-))
kind regards
Markus Gaugusch
