[hsflinux] "Modem is busy" on VAIO PCG-GR370

I have a VAIO PCG-GR370 running Red Hat 9.0, I downloaded the generic drivers for a HSF Conexant when I try to use KPPP on the Querying Modem it answer "The modem is busy"

I try to probe the modem using minicom, but the terminal window simply get frozen

I do not have problems during compilation and installation

Please Help me, I'm new on Linux
