Hi,
you might want to verify if "depmod -A" (simlar to 'depmod -a' except that it
verifies the timestamp on the files before recreating de dependencies) is
found in one of the boot scripts. There might be a reason why it is not being
executed properly.
In any case, your "depmod -a" solution should be fine.
As for the modules not loading, this is normal. The errors are the result of
probing for hardware that is not present in your system.
