Hi,
the modem driver should send the 'RING' message when it is detected.
Please make sure that you have selected the right country/region when you
installed the modem driver. You can see what country is currently active with
the 'hsfconfig --info' command in a root shell. You can change this setting
with the 'hsfconfig' command in a root shell.
You should also try to use the modem to connect to another machine for a data
connection or a IP connection to test the modem driver.
If you require more assistance, please send at support at linuxant.com the output
of 'dumpdiag'. Type the following in a root shell:
---
hsfconfig --dumpdiag
---
Just send us the generated file located in /tmp ('hsfdiag.txt').
It'll help us solve the problem.
