I'm experiencing fairly regular hard lockups with the latest version of
the HSFmodem driver on Kernel 2.4.18. Normally, the crashes happen
after an unexpected disconnection of some sort, and often (though not
always) when trying to reconnect afterwards. Just now, my connection
dropped after about three minutes. I ran "hsfstop" to try and start
from a "clean" system on the next connection, but the system locked up
on running "hsfstop".
My modem identifies itself as follows:
Conexant HSF softmodem (PCI-1106:3068-104d:80f6)
I'm using Kernel 2.4.18 with ACPI, low-latency and preempt patches. The
same problem has occured with much older versions of the driver (I
recently upgraded from hsfmodem_6.03.00lnxt03091001full). I'm running
Debian 3.0 (stable) and installing from the .deb packages.
