Hello,
I purchased the HP Pavilion dv6331 dual core notebook in June and installed
Slackware 12.0 on it. It turned out it has the HSF softmodem. I was aware it
has Linux drivers from Linuxant and I went to your website to download them.
I installed the FREE version for evaluation and the modem is detected
correctly and generally works OK.
lspci shows my modem as Intel HDA device and ALSA driver had troubles with
this device since the microphone failed to work properly. Positive byproduct
of installing the driver is that ALSA started to work correctly including the
microphone, so I plan to keep the driver anyway :-)
Here is the lspci output:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition
Audio Controller (rev 02)
However, after installation of HSF driver I switched off my laptop and lo and
behold - it did not power off properly. It unmounted and stopped all the disk
drives correctly, but after calling acpi_power_off the notebook is still on
until it runs out of power.
Here are the last 3 lines from the screen:
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:05:00.0 disabled
Power down
acpi_power_off called
and it hangs requiring pressing the power button for 5 seconds.
It seems to me there is some resource conflict with ACPI and the system
disables the IRQ on which poweroff operates, thus disables proper shut down.
I was planning to purchase the full version of the driver and I was wondering
if it could be fixed somehow.
If you have any questions, please ask, I'll try to provide more data.
Thanks in advance,
Oliver
