Hi,

I today downloaded and installed the newest driver
(hsfmodem_7.68.00.04full_i386.deb). All went well ... exept I had NO
sound anymore.

During install the new driver overwrites the following modules:

Note: kernel module snd-via82xx-modem overridden by hsfmc97via
Note: kernel module snd-intel8x0m overridden by hsfmc97ich hsfmc97sis
Note: kernel module snd-atiixp-modem overridden by hsfmc97ati

I don't know whether it is important or not, but I do NOT have my modem
onboard ( there are via soundchips with modem integrated, but mine has
not)! I have a devolo microlink-56k PCI modem

        PCI 305.0: 0780 Communication controller

and an asrock P4VM900-SATA2 mobo. On this board I have a via / intel
soundchip without modem !

        PCI 8001.0: 0403 Audio device
          [Created at pci.296]

          Driver Modules: "snd_hda_intel"
          Memory Range: 0xfebfc000-0xfebfffff (rw,non-prefetchable)
          IRQ: 21 (96463 events)
          Module Alias:
        "pci:v00001106d00003288sv00001849sd00000660bc04sc03i00"
          Driver Info #0:
            Driver Status: snd_hda_intel is active
            Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe snd_hda_intel"
          Config Status: cfg=new, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown

So I wonder if there is really a need to overwrite all those modules?

Anyway, I would like it very much if you could provide a fully working
driver which would leave allone the modules of my onboard soundchip or
could peacefully live together with. Otherwise I see this problem coming
up each time alsa changes something (which happens quiet often).

Regards
