<DIV><FONT face="Courier New" color=#0000ff size=2> and from your
mail, it seems that it succeeds perfectly,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New" color=#0000ff size=2> - pppd is responsible
for the IP stuff, such as getting the IP addresses</FONT></DIV>

provider.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face="Courier New" color=#0000ff size=2></FONT> </DIV>

hsf<BR><B>Subject:</B> [hsflinux] problem with Data transfer rate and
connecting<BR></FONT><BR></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hello,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> I have a
problem with the data transfer rate i am getting, as i have purchased the full
version. I am getting the same speed as i was getting in the free version i.e.
max 1 kb/sec as it shows in the ppp statistics. The modem connects at 9600.
Everything else works fine, the speaker, the network layer configuration i.e.
IP address allocation. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> The other problem is that after connecting
i cannot open any website due to DNS error, the browser cannot resolve the
name, but i can see the data still being received and sent, but at very low
rate.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial
size=2> Do I
have to configure DNS address manually. But we don't have to do this in
windows. The problem lies in the application layer, but i don't know
where.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> Can u
please tell if this is only the DNS problem or something else, and how can i
connect at the maximum speed. Do i have to add some extra commands to the
modem configuration file. currently im connecting at 52 kbps in
windows.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Thanks</FONT></DIV>
