[riptide] riptide audio inputs

I have installed the newest riptide dand HCF drivers on my HP Pavilion 8580.
Playback works fine, but I cannot seem to use any of the inputs.  I have tried
using line, mic and cd sources with applications and with the "dd bs=8k count=50
< /dev/dsp > /audio.au" and "cat audio.au > /dev/dsp" type tests.  I am using
KMIX under Mandrake 9.0.  All the modules load with no errors reported in the
syslog.

Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.
