[driverloader] DriverLoader and Gentoo

I seem to have made my situation worse.
I've installed hotplug as in the instructions, and I removed pegasus from
modules.autoload.d.
Should I remove hotplug?
modprobe driverloader gives:
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/misc/driverloader.o: init_module: No such
device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/misc/driverloader.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/misc/driverloader.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r5/misc/driverloader.o: insmod driverloader
failed
and that message repeats itself a few times as modprobe retries
driverloader at boot.

Check your /etc/modules.autoload (or in the newest versions of gentoo, /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4) Also load any network modules after driverloader.
