hmm.. its not hotplug- my mistake. its cardmgr:

That's on 2.4. on 2.6 nothing happens. another weird issue - when I plug in 
the card, on the Armada the cursor still blinks but on the Evo it too is 
frozen, that's both on 2.4 and 2.6.

If I turn off cardmgr (service pcmcia stop) then the computer doesn't get 
stuck but of course nothing happens.
