[driverloader] Unable to set ESSID

Hi,

first of all, we do not recommend that you configure your wireless 
interface using low level tools such as 'iwconfig'. We recommend that 
you use the network configuration tool provided in your Linux 
distribution instead.

This is the Windows XP driver which controls the ESSID value and it is 
possible that it decided to reset it to nothing for an unknown reason. 
You could try to use the 'iwlist scanning' command in a root shell just 
to make sure that the access point or the other node you want to connect 
to was detected by DriverLoader. You should also make sure that the 
wireless interface is in the mode you intent to use (i.e. Managed or 
Ad-Hoc) before setting the ESSID. Finally, trying with different 
versions of the Windows XP driver might solve this problem.
