Hello all,
I hope this makes sense! (I'm using Mandrake 8.1 with a Rockwell HCF 56k
Data Fax [127A 1003]).
I'm having a little problem that I hope someone can help me with. I
downloaded the latest HCF driver (version
...hcflinmodem-0.93mbsibeta02052120) as an RPM and installed it. Right
after I got done with that I realized that I had forgotten to remove the
previous version (...-0.93mbsibeta02051900).
So I tried to remove -0.93mbsibeta02051900 by using "rpm -e
hcflinmodem". After I type that in (as root) the computer thinks for
awhile and then gives me another prompt without displaying any results.
I wasn't sure if I was supposed to type in the whole version
"rpm -e hcflinmodem-0.93mbsibeta02051900" so I tried that and it tells
me that the package is not installed. But if I try to "cd
hcflinmodem-0.93mbsibeta02051900" I can get into that directory..., but
I can't do anything, such as run "hcfconfig". So is it still there? ( I
don't know.)
I then reinstalled the newer driver -0.93mbsibeta02052101, but I can't
get to it by "cd hcf...-0.93...02052101". It says that the directory for
this does not exist.
Any ideas on how this NEWBIE can successfully remove the older driver
and reinstall the newer driver?
Thanks,
Sam
