I would repeat my question of Wednesday, November 13, 2002 10:55 PM
I have never seen an answer! Is it mailed to myself or can I find it elsewhere? (I received the list From: hcflinux-request at lists.mbsi.ca fromSubject: hcflinux digest, Vol 1 #170 till #188 /Reply-to: hcflinux at lists.mbsi.ca
Can someone help me?
I 'm young in Linux . After 2 months I am not yet be able to use my printer(Epson C20UX )and my modem.
My modem is a Victory -Conexant (vendor:14F1/dev:1036/sub:103614F1) - pc is DELL with pentium 233 mmx
I installed SUSElinux 7.2 with kernel 2.4.4-4GB -( maximum installation + kernel-source included).
I'm trying to install hcfpcimodem-0.98mbsibeta02110301.tar.gz (in 021010 the same problem).
I'hve got the error in line7. in /modules/common.make
The problem is: /lib/modules/2.4.4-4gb/build/include/linux/version.h does not exist.
Reading on the web I found something:
What means the third line? obsolete SuSE 2.4.4-4GB kernel --> no more supported?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----Mon Sep 30 2002 Marc Boucher
---* makefile: added Mandrake 9.0 linux-2.4.19-16mdk kernel and
---removed obsolete SuSE 2.4.4-4GB kernel.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whats wrong? version.h is not found in any directory even kernel-source is installed(YAST2).
Can someone give me a useful rpm for this kernel? The nearest version I have found (not tried!) was:
hcfpcimodem-0.98mbsibeta02110300k2.4.7_4GB-1suse.i386.rpm
How can I resolve this? I would start with Linux on a small configuration but it's hard to success. (the old Win95 works fine!)
Thanks for a sugestion
Marc.
