Hi,

do you have a complete log of the connection attempt?

Kppp has an option to get a log window during the connection. "vwdial" sends
it's log output in '/var/log/messages'.

I suggest this initialization string:

AT &F +ER=1; +DR=1

If you can test with a terminal software like 'minicom', it's easier to see
if the problem is related to the PPP software's connection script or the
modem.

Subject: [hcflinux] SuSE 9.0 + full driver

I've just upgraded to SuSE 9.0 from 8.2 and I am now using the
k_athlon-2.4.21-144 kernel. Before the upgrade, I was happily using
hcfpcimodem-0.99lnxtbeta03042700k2.4.20_4GB_athlon-1suse.i586.rpm with
my "Conexant HCF 56k Data/Fax Modem (rev 08)".

I've installed the
hcfpcimodem-1.00lnxt03112100full_k2.4.21_144_athlon-1suse.i586.rpm
package and entered my license details with hcfpciconfig. It dials and
connects to my ISP okay using kinternet but, once the link is
established, I can't send or receive any data. The kinternet status icon
still shows connecting (lightning bolt) even though the log shows that
it's set a new remote IP address. This is the exact same behaviour that
I had when I tried the free drivers and was connecting at 57600 (my ISP
doesn't allow you to connect at 14400 but I did try).

Help please.
