Hi,
I have seen a similar problem reported by another user from Italy and he
fixed it by importing the FLAGS and RELAYS settings from his Windows
driver's INF file. You can try replacing these values in your HSF driver INF
file. To know which INF file to edit, run "hsfconfig --info". Then, replace
the following settings in the appropriate INF file and run
"hsfconfig --country" to reconfigure the driver with the new settings.
---
HKR,Country\0012,RELAYS,1,\
0F,40,\
0F,40,\
0E,40,\
0A,40,\
0F,40,\
0F,40,\
0B,40,\
0B,40,\
08,40,\
09,40,\
08,40,\
08,40
HKR,Country\0012,FLAGS,1,00,00,1C,00
---
If your modem works under Windows, you should probably look in the INF file
and compare the values to see if yours are different.
Please let us know if it works.
Thank you,

Hi list!
I bought a Sony Vaio PCG-FR215E and read it has a Conexant AC97 modem
for VIA.
ListMdm v.1.6 says:

I downloaded SuSE 8.2/athlon precompiled rpm
(hsflinmodem-5.03.27lnxtbeta03042700k2.4.20_4GB_athlon-1suse.i586), got
it installed in a few seconds, no errors, but cannot connect to my ISP.
The modem accepts AT commands, answers OK, but there's no sound from the
speakers (VIA/AC97) when dialing and eventually it comes up with a "NO
CARRIER" (if I dial ATX3DT...) or "NO DIALTONE".
Kernel modules are up, config looks good, set up for Italy.
I tried with noapic, acpi=off, apm=off... no way.
