[hsflinux] No dialing sound from modem

hi,

   I have successfully installed the modem drivers for my Redhat 9 running on Compaq Presario (Athlon) for  Acer Laboratories Inc. [ALi] M5457 AC-Link Modem Interface Controller.

   It connects fine, but does'nt give any ring tone or connection sound ... I double checked my audio mixer settings are everything seems all right. I saw a comment on Linuxant FAQ about AT but cud'nt understand where to make those changes :(. I did'nt find a place in the conf files or even when running hsfconfig repeatedly.

   How do I bring up the phone sound ?
