[hsflinux] Fails to install on on configured FC1

I am rolling hsflinux on a number of FC1 machines that are running a kernel with a few
extra configurations. Installation fails (see below). How can I progress (please don't
advise using the so called generic version because (a) that can't be used to generate
RPMs and therefore (b) requires a c compiler on the target machines which is not an
option).

Am I right about point (a)? Is the generic version capable of creating an RPM for rolling
out on a number of customer's PCs?
