[hsflinux] *very* slow free modem

sorry for my last hasty email... will recompile the kernel and provide
the output of dmesg before expecting further response.  i'm about to
leave where i'm working on this computer for someone, so may not be
able to get back to you for a number of months.

nb.  those are the default kernel options for debian, so if that's the
problem a lot of debian users will have trouble with the hsfmodem
driver!
