Hi gillian, I'm no expert, just a newbie, but what I would try is forcing
the uninstall by using the "--force" option, and then try reinstalling the
rpm package.
I also find that by rebuilding the driver from the generic source rpm I get
better performance than by using the pre-compiled architecture specific
version. If you have your system set up with development ability and are
able to rebuild src rpms, you may want to give that option a try.
